READ ABOUT MY UPCOMING MISSION TRIP TO KENYA
AUGUST 2, 2018 Dear Family and Friends, I am writing this letter with much excitement and enthusiasm for what God is doing in my life and in the lives of others that I engage with every day. The Lord is faithful and powerful. I am in awe of Him. This fall I will be traveling with Minister Sharon Savage CEO of Women of Valor Ministries-America and Africa. I have been invited to participate in this year’s Education Summit and International Women’s Conference which will be held in Kenya this fall. Min. Sharon has been working with a pastor who is Bishop of the Pentecostal Evangelist Fellowship of Churches I have been invited to attend, teach, exhort, and carry out the call of God on my life at an international level, in which I am grateful and ecstatic. One of the missions of woman of Valor Ministries is to teach and train women (and men) of God to walk fully in the call of God on their lives; and to help with opportunities to fulfill those purposes. Along with Minister Savage, there is a group of seven women that will accompany me: We will be teaching and training hundreds of women, young adults, and some children in the areas of:
Leadership in the body of Christ;
Advancing the church through strategic planning.
Youth and Young Adults walking in purpose.
Health and Wellness for women-prevention, detection, walking in greater health.
Healthy mothers and babies-requirements to bring forth Godly, healthy children.
Rising up from widowhood to fulfill purpose in God, just to name a few topics.
I have been asked to teach and minister in the area of widowhood, an area that I am well acquainted with. I have been widowed now for more than six years. There is a tendency as women get older to think that their life is over. When you lose a spouse you lose your best friend. It is a lonely experience, one that can cause you to give up and lose yourself in the grieving process. I have been told by Minister Sharon, that many of the women where we will minister are widowed in their 20’s and 30’s due to class wars, health issues, and other circumstances. I believe I am being divinely sent to encourage these women, to give them hope, to overcome the pain and suffering that accompanies the loss of a loved. I want to teach them strategies to help them develop and redevelop their lives by sharing my personal experience and through the information that I will leave with them during the workshop and seminars. Classes will be taught during the day, with plans for open-air crusades in the afternoons. There will also be revivals in the evening and evangelism and preaching in churches on Sunday. I’m sure you are asking at this point in my letter, “What does this have to do with me?” The first and important thing that I am asking for is your prayers, as everything about this trip is in God’s capable hands. I am also asking for financial support if, and only if, God lays it on your heart to support in this way. I WILL BE SO GRATEFUL FOR ANY AND ALL ALL DONATIONS. The cost of the trip is $3000.00. My church is working hard to help as much as possible. Min. Sharon is trusting that her non-profit will also help to raise the money for the seven women who will be traveling with her. And I am joining my faith with hers. However, I want to do my due diligence to raise as much money on my own, to help with my own personal cost. I would like to receive all donations by August 1, 2018. I am asking my family and friends to donate $25- $50.00. If by chance I do not raise the money by the deadline, the donations I do receive will be held by Min. Sharon’s organization for a future mission trip. This will be her 48th trip to Africa. She goes on several mission trips a year. I have had a desire to accompany her on one of her mission trips and I believe God has ordained that It be this trip to Kenya. I have no doubt this experience will be life-changing and I am excited to share it with you. Above all, I pray that every person, widowed, elderly, sick and dying child, every struggling mother, every ashamed teenager that we meet, get to know the hope and joy and peace that is THEIRS through salvation in Jesus Christ. Thank you for your prayers and support Donations can be made via PayPal at this my website: In Jesus’s Name, Rev. Lydia P. Ford, Pastor of Don’t Forget To Say Your Prayers International
