Greetings my sisters,
What a time we had at the Women of Valor Conference held this past weekend, at the Saint Thomas Seminary in Bloomfield, CT. We were blessed by Minister Sharon and Pastor Earl Savage of Walk By Faith Ministries, Orlando, Florida. A group of ten men and women made the journey here to Connecticut, to be with us and fellowship with us here.
I thank God for the women who were present to birth, Women of Valor Connecticut. My thanks to : Evangelist Ann-marie Martin, Dr. Barbara Headley, and Minister Paulette Hartfield. Special thanks to Psalmist: Eugenia (Cookie Green and husband Gregory Green, Rev. Lisa Clayton and Min. Johnson for their musical selections. They truly ushered in the presence of God on both days.
A special thanks to my friend and mentor, Evangelist Sandy King, Sister Lavern Mott, Sister Evelyn Green and sister Sabrina Smith, who helped to organize this awesome conference. Our thanks to Saint Thomas Seminary for their gracious hospitality. We hope to come back and fellowship with them in the near future.
Our theme for the conference was: The Time is Now...The Harvest is Ripe. Our scripture text was: Isaiah 6:8 Also I heard the voice of the Lord, saying: "Whom shall I send, and who will go for Us? Then I said, "Here am I ! Send me."
Time will not permit me to elaborate on what each preacher spoke unto our ears. However, Evangelist Martin told us that the harvest is plentiful, but the laborers are few. Each of us should be asking ourselves, "Lord is it I"? Are you calling me into the vineyard to work for you? She also let us know under the anointing, that God is getting ready to lay some of us off, because we are not producing anything. We are not doing Kingdome work. I thought that was a true and profound statement.
Dr. Headley's topic was called: "Creatiave Listening in the midst of Chaos: God is speaking are you attentive to his voice?" She told us that many of us in the body of Christ are addicted to noise, that we are uncomfortable with the silence. She said that we have lost the discipline of hearing from God. Dr. Headley said that listening to God is and Art! it calls you out of the natural into the spiritual. she gave us five principles that will help us to hear from God. They are as follows:
- Separation: All of us need to get away and spend time with God. We must commune with him.
- Submission: We mus tcommit to letting go of everthing and submit to God.
- Silence: We must learn how to quiet our spirit and listen for the sweetness of God's voice We must let him direct our thoughts.
- Suffering: Suffering has redemptive value. We must be broken and undone. We must get to know Christ in the power of his resurrection and in the fellowship of His suffering, being comformed into the image of God's dear Son, Jesus Christ.
- Serenity: God offers us the peace of God which surpasses all understanding, if we would just keep our minds on him. It is the peace that clicks on like a light switch. It switches on a sense of calmness in the mist of turmoil. Instead of you praying to Him, let Him pray you! Serenity seals you in His presence.
Minister Sharon Savage spoke on: Now is the Time to Possess what God has faor us Joshua 1:10-11. She enouraged us to take possession of all that God has in store for us. She encouraged us to go forth and not be afraid to be different, to go against the grain and work outside of the box of tradition and demominationism. Minister Savage released mantles, blessings and giftings upon those who desired a fresh anointing. She released the five fold ministry gifts among those who were bold enough to step forward and receive. Many women were delivered and healing was present for those who received it by faith. She was such a blessing to the women.
Minister Paulette Hartfield's message was: "Appointed, Approved and Authorized by God John 15:16. She told us that God has chosen us, we did not choose ourselves. He is the one who has ordained us from the womb. Jer.1:5,6. Many of us might be waiting for some man or woman of God to approve us, but we must remember that God has already sanctioned us to go ye into all the world: Matthew 28: 18-20. She emphasized that Jesus has instructed us to go forth and bear good fruit. Each of us must be careful to examine our fruit and see what we are producing. The Bible goes on to say or continue in John 15: 7: "If you remain in me and my words remain in you, then you will ask for anything you wish, and you shall have it."
There were so many wonderful hightlights that I cannot elaborate on them all. I hope that the next time Women of Valor convenes, that you can join us and be a part of the new thing God is doing in this area.
May God Bless You and as always: "Don't Forget To Say Your Prayers".
