Prayer News You Can Use

DOUBLE UP AND CALL FOR  REINFORCEMENTS

There are times when burdens and trials were heaped up on me. Times when I felt like a quarterback that had been sack, but then four and five people continue to pile on top of him. There are many spirit filled saints who have a relationship in Christ, attend church regularly, believe His Word and have faith; yet we are going to the "furnace on affliction". Never buy into the fallacy that Christians are not suppose to go through anything. That is a lie from the pit.

Sometimes you need somebody to agree with you in prayer. You need somebody who won't commiserate with you, but who can get a prayer through. You need a brother or sister who can stand on God's Word and intercede with Him for your finances, your children, your marriage and your ministry.

James had just been executed and Herod was planning to kill Peter in the morning. Now, you would think that Peter would be anxious and fearful. But the Bible says in (Acts 12:6) that he was sleeping. Where did he get that kind of peace and faith? Anytime you can sleep knowing that you face destruction and even death in your immediate future you have assurance of two things. (1) You know God well, and you have handed the situation over to Him. (2) You can be assured that somebody is praying for you, somebody with experience and clout in the heavenly places. Notice that the text in that chapter says that the church was praying. They were not praying or saying, "If Peter was in Gods will, he wouldn't be in this mess right now," or "Since Peters in jail, who's going to preach for his next Sunday?" No, while they were praying in faith for a breakthrough, God was at work on the other side of the city dispatching and angel to set Peter free. That is how prayer works. John Wesley said, "We can do great things when we pray; but we can do nothing great until we pray!"

Do you feel like you prayers are not getting the job done? Then hook up with someone, Double up. Bring in reinforcements! Find somebody who will agree with you, for Jesus said, "If two of you agree about anything, it will be done for you. (Matthew 18:19)

"Prayer doesn't just change things, prayer changes everything!"
