Some giving levels are effortless, others make us uneasy. sooner or later you hit a wall called-fear. Until you recognize it you will never be able to break through it. As a result you will live with less than God intends you to enjoy. What is the solution? Change your idea of ownership! if you believe everything truly Belongs to God, what do you have to fear? If God controls the comings and goings of your money, there is no reason not to give, right?
But getting God involved in your finances means surrendering control of your money to Him. And that is scary. Jesus' model for generous giving was a widow who gave her last penny; now she had nothing to rely on but God's promise to meet her needs.
God doesn't want your generosity to be limited by fear. Either you will trust Him financially and experience the incredible joy of participating in His purposes on the earth, or you will trust your earning ability and live with anxiety. The danger of not crossing your financial threshold in giving, is that you can miss out on something great that God wants to do for you-and through you!
Most of the time when the Holy Spirit nudged me to give at a chruch service or to a particular ministry, I was in no financial shape to give. Bills were coming from everywhere and creditors were calling me everyday. But I prayed and asked God what field I should sow into and where was the harvest on the seed I needed to plant. Was it on transforming my ministry, restoration of a relationship, healing and deliverance of a friend or family member? It is important to wwrap your seed around an expectation. If you are not expecting nothing, that is exactely what you will bet. You also must know that the place you are about to sow into is good ground. That might take some research and spiritual discernment, but it is worth investigating. Sow your seed in good ground and expect God to give you a harvest.
If the seed means nothing to you, if it isn't a seed that makes you question whose voice was in your head telling you to sow that much money; then the seed you planted was not a sacrifice that God would be please with. I has to be a seed that makes you scratch your head, or make your hairs stand on its end! LOl. . I often pray to God asking him to help me get to the next level of giving, a level that will definitely stretch my faith. I have heard several ministers say that there is a special anointing on the $1000.00 seed. Most people won't think twice about sowing, $10.00, $20.00, $50.00, or even $100.00. But when challenged to give a $1000.00 dollar seed, most folks will think twice. That's how you know that your faith is being challenged and tested, to give beyond your present comfort level.
I know this for certain, that God doesn't respond to fear, He responds to "Faith." I encourage you to continue to pay your tithes and offerings, but I also pray that God will give you the faith to learn the blessings and benefits of sowing. It is a spiritual concept. In (Genesis 8:22, the Bible says that: "While the earth remains, seedtime and harvest, cold and heat, summer and winter, day and night shall not cease." )
I pray that you recieved something from today's teaching. Be blessed on this beautiful snowless day.
And as always: "Dont' Forget To Say Your prayers."
