TOPIC: “YOU HAVE BEAUTIFUL FEET”
Do you have beautiful feet? Some families are plagued with having “Bad” feet. I confess that in my own family, on my father’s and mother’s side there are family members who have terrible looking feet! However, in my humble opinion, I was blessed to have beautiful feet. When my feet get a pedicure, they look great. Again, this is my opinion, I have nice looking feet. I have a bad habit of looking over at women’s feet while they are getting a pedicure. And I notice corns and bunions on people’s feet. Then I say to myself, “Lord, I have nice feet, but why can’t I find shoes that don’t hurt my feet! That is an oxymoron. Every shoe I try on hurt my feet and I have beautiful feet. Lol. Well, that use to be %100 true, until I notice that one of my toes were starting to curl over and it looked like a hammer toe. Ugh, how ugly! It’s not bad, but I don’t like the look of it, lol. Well, let me get to my point.
Runners must take good care of their feet. They take great care as they search for and buy shoes. Athletes that run don’t mind spending lots of money for their shoes and socks. Many get pedicures or they keep their toenails trimmed. They exercise and stretch their tendons and Achilles heels. Runners are always looking to hear and seek out the latest treatments for blisters, corns and athlete’s foot. For a runner, foot care is not an option; their careers depend upon them taking care of their feet.
Even though runners take great care of their feet, they would never enter them into a beauty contest! Runner’s toenails sometimes turn black. Calluses form- often in the most unsightly places. And no matter how careful they are, new shoes often cause blisters. Those who run for fun and exercise usually can’t boast of having beautiful feet. But those who run with the message of Jesus Christ crucified and raised, always can! God’s prophet Isaiah wrote:
How beautiful on the mountains are the feet of those who bring good news, who proclaim peace, who bring good tidings, who proclaim salvation, who say to Zion, “Your God reigns!”
Every one of Christ’s ambassadors walks on beautiful feet! Every special envoy of heaven’s High King carries the massage of a wonderful salvation, the salvation Jesus himself won for us on Calvary’s cross. That message can’t help but beautify every part of us-even our feet!
As Isaiah says, we…….
• “Bring good news”- the news of sins forgiven, of right-standing with God restored.
• “Proclaim peace”-the peace of heart that comes to all who abandon rebellion and receive instead our Father’s love.
• “Bring good tidings”-tidings of great joy for everyone who clings to Jesus in faith.
• “Proclaim salvation”-wholeness of spirit, purpose in life, comfort in trouble, hope in tragedy, and heaven in death.
A beautiful message- one carried on beautiful feet!
