Those who know Your name will trust You, for You, Lord, have never forsaken those who seek You (Psalm 9:10).
Thrust and faith is a necessity if we are to genuinely seek and praise the Lord. Otherwise, we will take matters into our own hands when we don't like what is happening in the worship service, in our personal lives, or when we do not understand the path God has set before us. David could have done this many times in the years between when he was anointed king by Samuel and when he was enthroned by the people. In fact. his trust and confidence in God was repeatedly tested.
On one occasion when he was running from King Saul, who sought to kill him many times by the way, David had the opportunity to kill Saul. From David's perspective, this certainly would have advanced David's cause. yet, David, because he believed in God's faithfulness to him, chose to wait for God's timing instead of taking things into his own hands.
The Lord rewards every man for his righteousness and faithfulness. the Lord delivered you (King Saul) into my hands today, but I would not lay a hand on the Lord's anointed. As surely as I valued your life today, so may the Lord value my life and deliver me from all trouble (1 Samuel 26:23-24).
God is searching for such a generation, a people who will value His presence over their own fleshly concerns and desires and wait for His purposes to unfold in their lives. Despite periods of frustration, delays, denials if you will, you have to know that God is never late, but he isn't early either. When you know that deep down in your spirit, You will approach Him with humility, subjecting your pride, arrogant heart to the searching of His all-seeing eyes. Then you will begin to value the Lord and His plans for your life above everything else.
The Lord looks down from heaven on the sons of men to see if there are any who understand, any who seek God (Psalm 14:2).
These are the chosen ones who will be caught by God, for His plans and purposes always include intimacy with Him. Jeremiah 29:11-14; "For I know the plans I have for you," declares the Lord, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. then you will call upon Me and come and pray to Me, and I will listen to you. You will seek me and find Me when you seek Me with all your heart., He will be found by you, "declares the Lord.
When we genuinely want God's presence. he gives it to us. this is the bottom line of praise and worship. Hence, David instructed his son Solomon to continue as he had started.
"and you, my son Solomon, acknowledge the God of your father, and serve Him with wholeheartedly devotion and with a willing mind, for the Lord searches every heart and understands every motive behind the thoughts. If you seek Him, He will be found by you; but if you forsake Him, he will reject you forever. ( 1 Chronicles 28:9). The problem that we currently have in Christendom, is we are raising a generation of children that do not know God, because their parents are un-churched. Today's parents are much younger, and many of them do not go to church. They don't know the fear of the Lord, they have any foundation in Christ's teachings. They do not respect authority, they don't have a clue about praise and worship, and the importance to get in the presence of the Lord.
The same challenge comes to us. Choose to be an Abraham, Joseph, Moses, David or Daniel. praise and seek God with all of your heart. Then wait and see what He will do in your life. I promise you that He will fulfill His ultimate goal and desires for you and for me. he will grace us with His presence.
God Bless and "Don't Forget To Say your Prayers!"
