Acts 4:13King James Version (KJV)
13 Now when they saw the boldness of Peter and John, and perceived that they were unlearned and ignorant men, they marveled; and they took knowledge of them, that they had been with Jesus.
"Blurred Lines" Robin Thick, feat. T.I. & Pharrell Williams)
Everybody get up. Everybody get up. Hey, hey, hey Hey, hey, hey Hey, hey, hey If you can't hear what I'm trying to say. You can't read from the same page Maybe I'm going deaf, Maybe I'm going blind Maybe I'm out of my mind. Everybody get up. OK now that was close, tried to domesticate you But you're an animal, baby, his words not mine, I substituted these: (Nah, You Have Jesus' nature and you have been with Him. It's in your nature, God's DNA Nature, that is. Just let me liberate you Hey, hey, hey You don't need no papers. Hey, hey, hey That man is not your maker.
Lol, these are just a few lines for the hit R&B song, "Blurred Lines by Robin Thicke I rearranged a few words to push my point this afternoon. I hope you and I get the revelation.
In the Book of Acts chapter 3:1-11, Peter Heals a Crippled Beggar. "Peter and John were on their way to church one afternoon to take part in the three-o'clock prayer service. As they approached the Temple, a man lame from birth was being carried in. Each day he positioned himself beside the Temple gate, the one called the "Beautiful Gate" to beg from the people going into the Temple. When he saw Peter and John about go in, he asked them for some money. Peter and John looked at him intently, and Peter said, "Look squarely at us!" The lame man looked at them supposing that they would give him some money. But Peter said, "I don't have any money for you. But I will give you what I have. In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, get up and walk!" Then Peter took the lame man by the right hand and helped him to his feet. And as he did the man's feet and anklebones were healed and strengthened. He jumped up, stood on his feet and began to walk! Then, walking, leaping, and praising God, he went into the Temple with them. All the people in the church marveled at the lame man who was once lame on his feet, they were absolutely amazed. They all rushed out to Solomon's Colonade, where he was holding tightly to Peter and John. Everyone stood there in awe of the wonderful thing that had happened(Acts 3 1-12).
Now, when we go over into Chapter 4, we find Peter and John defending themselves before the council, the leading priest, the captain of the Temple guard and some of the Sadducees. They all were very upset at what took place in the Temple with this lame man. They sought an answer from Peter as to who gave them the authority to perform this act. Peter and John made it very clear to them that: they were claiming the authority of Jesus, that there was a resurrection from the dead. They arrested Peter and John and took them to jail. But that did not sit to well with many of the people who witnessed the miracle, and they subsequently believed it. So the numbers of believers totaled about five thousand men, not counting women and children.
The next day the apostles were questioned more profusely. The leaders of the council wanted to know, "By what power, or in whose name, have you done this? " Then Peter, filled with the Holy Ghost, said to them. "Leaders and elders of our nation, are we being questioned because we have done a good deed for a crippled man? Do you want to know how he was healed? Let me clearly state to you and to all the people of Israel that he was healed in the name and power of Jesus Christ from Nazareth, the man you crucified, but whom God raised from the dead. For Jesus is the one referred to in the Scriptures, where it says, "The stone that you builders rejected has now become the cornerstone."
The bottom line in this text is: the people were so amazed at the miraculous healing of this lame man, After all these men, Peter and John wee ordinary men who had had no special training. They did not go to the Rabbinical Seminary, they did not study under the gifted scribes and teachers of the Law. They had little to no money in their purses, they had no oratorical training in how to approach other learned men and speak to them publicly. They were fishermen, who had been drafted by Jesus into his inner circle. They would become His chosen vessels through winch all believing disciples of Jesus Christ, would enter, through the blood of Jesus.
In verse 13, the members of the council were amazed when they saw the boldness pf Peter and John, for they could see that they were ordinary me who had had no special training. They also recognized them as men "WHO HAD BEEN WITH JESUS.!!!!
I know a lot of us get geeked about our special gifts and anointing that God has endowed us with. Others are hung up on their religious education. We brag about what schools we attended and the credentials and letters behind our names. I am Bishop so and so, I am Apostle whatchamacallit it, and I have six churches in Uganda. I am Evangelist so great and mighty, and God has taken me to four continents last year, and the list goes on and on. But seldom do you hear anybody testify that: "I've been with Jesus." And my life will never be the same. I thank God for touching and healing me from breast cancer. I walked by this lady in "Big Y" last Tuesday, and the Lord told me to tell her, "It is done in Jesus Name," The lady fell out under the power of the Holy Ghost, and when she felt for the lump, it was gone. When the crowd asked me how it happened, all I could say was, "I HAD BEEN WITH JESUS! JESUS CHRIST OF NAZARETH HEALETH THEE."
I know in Christendom we all want to be a "Wonder, " but I just want to be one of those whose testimony is, "She's been with Jesus!" I can see it all over her face. I can see it in her smile, I can feel Jesus when she speaks. I can feel power going out of me when she hugged me.
What does the title Blurred Lines have anything to do with this message, this blog? Well I am glad you asked. Most people would rather see a sermon than hear one! As God's Sons and Daughters, we have been given power and authority to tread on serpents and scorpions, and power over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you (Luke 10:19). The "Blurred Lines" come into play when people try to tell you this power only belongs to the Apostles, Pastors, Prophets, Teachers, Evangelist and other laity. NO, No, No! The Holy Ghost fell upon all sorts of people on the Day of Pentecost. Let no man or woman rob you of what Legally belongs to you! He has given you and me power to declare and decree a thing.
When the saints and unsaved man or woman sees you or me coming to minister to them, they should not be able to distinguish whether it was Jesus' hands or Sister Mary or Brother Joesph's hands that touched them.
When Jesus begins to demonstrate His power in us people will begin to say things of this nature: " I don't really know who it was but, somebody touched me! Was it Jesus or Sister Janet? I know Janet came into my sick room, read a Scripture, anointed me with oil, prayed and laid hands on me. While she was doing so, I felt a warm feeling inside. I felt virtue go into me. I felt that I had been with Jesus. When sister Janet left, the fragrance of His presence stayed with me. And now, I am not the same. I am healed, delivered, and now I'm saved.
Jesus is blurring the lines. He has no pics or pets. He has no favorite denominations. He cares little if anything about you title or position. Your pedigree means nothing to Him. How long you have been a member of a church, whether your great-great-great grandfather placed the cornerstone at your particular church is insignificant to Him. God the Father, Jesus the Son, and the Holy Spirit, want to know: " Have You Been With Jesus?" Because I am separating and making a distinction between those who say they have been with me, obey me and read my Word. I will judge those who lie, perpetrate and fool the sheep into thinking that they have such a great anointing on them. "Blurred Lines" means, "Whosoever will let him come." I will drop an Acts 3:4 healing anointing on you! You don't need papers, you don't need man's validation, you don't even have to go to the most prestigious schools Of theology. The question is: Are you willing to spend time with Jesus?
This is the year for double favor, miracles, signs and wonders. Spend time with Jesus this season. Let His Breath, the Power, His Anointing and Presence fill your temple.
Have a great day. and: "Don't Forget To Say Your Prayers."
