Perhaps you have heard it preached that work resulted from the fall. No that is not the case. While it is true that work took on a different meaning, it is a mistake to believe that our first parents were without purpose prior to this. From the time Adam and Eve were created it's been clear that God ntended us to be like our creator-productive, fruitful and invested in task that contribute to His purposes.
Adam and Eve were given reign over the garden and enjoyed a maximum level of fulfillment in their jobs before their selfish decision to disobey. Listen: "God took the man and put him in the Garden of Eden to tend and keep it....Out of the ground the Lord God formed every beast of the field and every bird of the air, and brought them to Adam to see what he would call them. And whatever Adam called each living creature, that was its name" (Genesis 2:15 & 19 NKJV).
The first job description included naming and overseeing- the ultimate manager's position! Similarly, Eve was created to share in these endeavors as Adam's helper. A man who isn't busy doesn't need a helper! Selah, pause and think about that! Now, I am not referring to a live in girlfriend, someone who shares the rent, and the bills; someone that you share your sexual experiences with. The helper that is referred to in the Bible is talking about "a wife." What God had in mind was an Adam and Eve, not an Adam and Steve relationship. This "Helper" would be one that the husband would show honor to as that weaker vessel, since they are heirs with you of the grace of life, so that your prayers may not be hindered." ( 1 Peter 3:7 ESV).
The Bible says that: "A man that doesn't work should not eat. ( 2 Thes 3:10 ). 1 Timothy 5:8 ESV states: "But if anyone does not provide for his relatives, and especially for members of his household, he has denied the faith and is worse than an unbeliever." So ladies you need to look no further than your Bible to realize that productive work is God's plan for your life.
