Topic: “Precious Memories, How They Linger”
Last Friday night I had the pleasure of keeping my granddaughters overnight. I say, I had the pleasure because, God had promised to bless me by giving me by giving me, double for my trouble! Since the passing of my only daughter, Danielle Marie, God has gifted me with her daughter, Jayla, and two beautiful little girls, Brianna and Brittany , my son Trevor's two girls. They are 2 ½ and 1/12 years old. Whew, they are a handful to keep up with at my young age, Lol.
At bedtime I put on Pandora Radio. The station they love is the Disney Station. While I was trying to get them to go to sleep, one of the Disney songs came on. It was called: “Be Our Guess.” I remember that song playing at the Disney store that my daughter worked at. As a matter of fact, they referred to their customers as, “Guess.”
It amazes me that whenever I go to the Disney store at West Farms, the manager’s, name is Guy, always spoke very highly of Danielle. I took Jayla there not too long ago and introduced her to him. I think he gave her something for free, I cannot recall what it was. Some of the people she worked with still work at that store. They talk about her personality and how well she treated the customers. I still have some of the merit badges or pins that she earned as an outstanding worker there.
It is funny how a song, a Disney song, can conjure up emotional feelings about someone you love and remember. I got a little choked up for a minute, went along with that feeling, and said a quick prayer until it passed. I do that a lot when I think about Danie and Tom. When the feeling of sadness or loneliness comes on me, I try to go along with that feeling, not try to override or dismiss it. Then I pray, try to remember something funny about one or the other, and then keep moving forward.
Jesus is our wounded healer! He was the god- man touched with the same infirmities as we are. That is why He is said to be our High Priest. I continue to trust God to heal all the places in my spirit that have been made sad, angry, upset, rejected, lonely etc. I refuse to allow the enemy to take that which belongs to me, which is my liberty and victory. Greater is He that is in me, than he that is in the world. And this is the victory that over-cometh the world, even our faith.
You can go from “Broken Bread, To Poured Our Wine.” God wants to use your brokenness, to heal somebody.
That is Scripture; feel free to look it up. Lol. Have a Blessed Day.
AND: DON'T FORGET TO SAY YOUR PRAYERS!
