It is crucial for believers to keep their minds stayed on what God has said in His Word concerning our personal well-being, our ministry, and our relationships with our loved ones. If we actually did that, it would be impossible for you to be depressed and defeated, regardless of what the devil and life sends our way. Sometimes, stuff just happens. Life and chance happen to all men. John 10:10 reminds us of these words: "Let not your heart be t troubled ye believe in God, believe also in me: In my Father's house are mansions: If it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you.....
I believe that God told us about the future events of his glory, and His plans for your life and mine because, we would see trouble, difficult days, and circumstances that would try our faith. He did not want us to become pre-occupied and discouraged by our present situations. When tragic things happen in our lives, Jesus wants us to focus more on the glorious future that He has planned for us. Listen to this Scripture: " But it is written, eyes hath not see, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him." 1 Corinthians 2:9)
We must always keep in mind the brevity of our lives down here. When this physical life has ended, The Lord has promised us that we will live again, but this time we will have an imperishable body that will last for an eternity. This new body will never get old, sick, or die! Hallelujah! If we think on these things, it will bring emotional peace and joy to us. We will find our peace in who we are in Christ and in what He has done for us, not in our physical circumstances.
Joyce Meyer always says, "Where the mind goes, the man follows." Your mind, the things we think about-control our emotions. therefore, we must control the way we think based on the Word of God, then and only then, can we begin controlling the way we feel. When people do things to hurt us or make us angry, we can control the way we respond to them. We have to understand what the Word says about anger. The Bible didn't say we wouldn't get angry! But it did say not to let the sun go down on our anger. We are not to nurse and rehearse it. Satan, our arch enemy, uses people to get on our nerves. so when someone angers or attacks you or me, we must know that we are in a spiritual battle! The Bible says in Ephesians 6:12, that we are not in a physical flesh and blood fight. We are fighting against spiritual wickedness and demonic spirits.! When we understand that, we can control our emotions.
Sometimes the thing that actually makes us angry is our own pride and selfishness. Too many of us are more concerned about self-promotion. If we loved people more then we love ourselves, then we wouldn't have some many problems with people and with our emotions. When a friend, family member, co-worker or a saint gets angry, we must learn to think this way: God, what is wrong with them? Why are they like that? Why are they behaving that way toward me? Selfish self-centered people get so angry that they become emotionally upset! We have to learn to diffuse that self on the inside of us, we can diffuse our anger if we employ the Holy spirit's help. Remember He is our helper in all aspects of our lives. He can change the way we think. His power can and will change us in the emotional realm. We don't have to go around like a time bomb waiting to go off. We can and must be transformed by the renewing of our mind daily.
How can we do that? We must study, meditate, and apply the Word of God to our lives. I'm not finished, but I hope I gave you something to think about today. God Bless and as always:
