SCRIPTURE: Nehemiah6:1-9 Sanballat, Tobiah, Geshem the Arab, and the rest of our enemies found out that I had finished rebuilding the wall and that no gaps remained—though we had not yet set up the doors in the gates. So Sanballat and Geshem sent a message asking me to meet them at one of the villages in the plain of Ono. But I realized they were plotting to harm me, so I replied by sending this message to them: “I am engaged in a great work, so I can’t come. Why should I stop working to come and meet with you?” Four times they sent the same message, and each time I gave the same reply. The fifth time, Sanballat’s servant came with an open letter in his hand, and this is what it said: “There is a rumor among the surrounding nations, and Geshem tells me it is true, that you and the Jews are planning to rebel and that is why you are building the wall. According to his reports, you plan to be their king. He also reports that you have appointed prophets in Jerusalem to proclaim about you, ‘Look! There is a king in Judah!’ “You can be very sure that this report will get back to the king, so I suggest that you come and talk it over with me.” I replied, “There is no truth in any part of your story. You are making up the whole thing.” They were just trying to intimidate us, imagining that they could discourage us and stop the work. So I continued the work with even greater determination. (Nehemiah 6:1-9 NLT)
I heard Bishop Noel Jones minister last Sunday on the Word Network, during his regular Sunday evening timeslot. I dont know what the topic was, as he was already 15 minutes into his sermon. But then he said these words: "I'm Not Up For Grabs!". Those words got my attention, and I was immediately drawn into his message. I began to relate his words to a conversation I had with somebody last week. But before I get into that, I decided to look up the idom, "up for grabs, because I wanted to get a clearer meaning of the word. according to the dictionary, it means: available to anyone, in total chaos, to seize suddenly or quickly snatch, clutch, ready to be won or taken. Now that makes me laugh right there!
I cannot actually elaborate on the conversation that I had, it is rather personal, but I do want to go on the record and state: "Under no means or any circumstances am I, "UP FOR GRABS!" First of all: I am not my own, I have been bought with a price! I only do what the Father wills for me to do. The Lord has a plan and a purpose for my life, Jeremiah 29:11. I will not be duped, tricked, seized suddenly by witchcraft, easily won, taken, or drawn into anyone's evil net like a bird caught in a snare.
You don't know the cost of the oil in my alabaster box, you don't know the cost of my pain, you don't know the nights that I rolled on the floor wishing that the nightmare that I went through was over. But I went through the process any how, by faith. I trusted God to see me through, and He is the true and faithful God that sticks closer than a brother.
So no, I am not up for grabs! My anointing is not up for grabs, my ministry is not up for grabs, my prayer life is not up for grabs, my church is not up for grabs, my family is not up for grabs, my sure enough friends are not up for grabs! I will not be distracted, disappointed, dissuaded, discouraged, disenchanted, destroyed, dismembered, disfellowshipped or any kind of (dis).
Sanballat, Tobiah, Gesham, the Arab and the rest of Nehemiah's enemies found out that he was not up for grabs. They tried to convince him to stop working to rebuild the wall of Jerusalem. But that was his assignment, and he told them, my words, "You must be crazy, you have lost your mind, I am doing a good work and I am not coming down for you or anybody else!" They tried to set a trap for him, they lied and gossiped about him, but Nehemiah, remained focused and kept doing what the Lord called him to do. Nehemiah took care of the people, He kept them on task. He told them you have to watch as well as pray. They had to stay on the wall with tools to build in one hand and their swords in the other hand or in their waistband.
The enemy always seems to know when God is getting ready to promote you. He will send people to take you off your assignment. He tries to promote fear in you, brings railing accusations, threats, they even try to entrap you with your own words if they can. Don't fall for it people of God! Stand your ground, be still and know the voice of God. Where confusion and all sorts of mess starts to accumulate, know that God is not in it. He is not the author of confusion, but of peace.
When Nehemiah decided to ignore the enemy, He and the people were able to finish building the wall in record time. The Bible says they finished in 52 days. That was a miracle. But the people hand a mind to work, according to the Scriptures. (Nehemiah 4:6).
Whatever God has for you to do, "Just do It!" Do not get distracted! People will bait a hook and try to lure you and snatch you up. We have to be on guard all the time. And let me help you; It is not always the enemy that tries to bait you, trick you, mislead you. Sometimes it is your so-called friends. That is why you need to have 1 or 2 mature saints, counselors trusted and tried prayer warriors around you to help you discern between good and evil.
I have been studying Ephesians chapter one. In that chapter Paul tells the Ephesians about the spiritual blessings that we have in Christ Jesus. Wisdom, knowledge and understanding is one of those blessings. I am asking God not just to give me knowledge, but wisdom and understanding. Why? Because knowledge is just facts. But wisdom is the what and how to use the knowledge or facts that we obtain. I am constantly asking God for wisdom and understanding. As a body of believers, what good is having knowledge of God, if you do not know how to appropriate that knowledge.
Nope, no way, not a chance, "I am not up for grabs." I am focused on my purpose. I have an assignment and I am married to that assignment until the Lord says otherwise. I know that all things are working for my good, He's intentional, never failing. I could go on, but I hope you get my point. Read the Book of Nehemiah, particularly chapters 1-7. You will be blessed.
"Don't Forget To Say Your Prayers!"
I prayed for the Father to block all accidents, premature death, car accidents, accidents in the home, at work at school, etc. I pray this over my family, friends, ministry leaders, church members etc. Yesterday my son-in-law called me to tell my that my granddaughter, Jayla, had an accident at school and had to go to the ER. she and another classmate collided in gym class. She wound up with a bruise over her eye, I think he said. But it could have been much worse. Prayer Works Ya'll. Don't wait until something has already happened before you pray, cut, tie up the enemies hands before he strikes. AMEN!!!
