Have you considered how much People" control your life? People set the standard and we wear it, drive it, quote it, or do it! Now that may be alright in some areas, but not when it comes to your life and destiny.Jesus said, "If the Son liberates you (makes you a free man/woman, then you are really and unquestionable free" (John 8:36 AMP).
What that means is you're free from the pressures others try to put on you, free to be who God called you to be; free to look to God for your own answers instead of always running to other people to get a "word" concerning your life. Jesus said a man must be content (satisfied) to receive the gift which is given him from heaven." I heard Wes Morgan say on the Word Network last night that: " You need to stop waiting for people to validate you. You need to quit waiting for people to approve what God has already downloaded in our DNA. You ought to stop waiting for people to make up their minds about us and what God has called us to do. Because the truth is, if God called you to it, He's going to make a way for you to do it! And there aint nothing the devil and his imps can do to stop God's plan from coming to fruition in your life.
Many of us including myself, were raised in such a way that we struggle with insecurity. We're competitive; we keep comparing ourselves with others. We're jealous of their possessions, jealous of their abilities and accomplishments, and jealous of their spiritual gifts. We are always trying to keep up with certain people or be like them. As a result we are constantly frustrated because we are operating outside of what God has called us to be. We are not being ourselves!
I love what Apostle Paul said to the church at Corinth in (2 Corinthians 3:1-3 The Message Bible ). He says: "Does it sound like we are patting ourselves on the back, insisting on our credentials, asserting our authority? Well, we're not. Neither do we need letters of endorsement, either to you or from you. You yourselves are all the endorsement we need. Your very lives are a letter that anyone can read by just looking at you.. (verse 5) "Not that we are sufficient of ourselves to think any thing as of ourselves; but our sufficiency is of God; who hath made us able ministers of the new testament; not of the letter, but of the spirit; for the letter killeth, but the spirit giveth life." (KJV). Paul was letting the church know that his apostolic appointment, anointing and power came from God not man! He didn't care whether they agreed, recommended or agreed with his coming to minister to them or not. The fact that the peoples were being saved, healed, and delivered was the only letter of accommodation that was necessary.
You can't run on somebody else's track or record. You will never enjoy the fullness of God's blessings and promises until you commit yourself to being the person God ordained you to be. So I encourage you to rise up and announce, "I am what I am by the grace of God." I can't be anything other than what God has called me to be. So I am going to concentrate on being the best me that I can be, and enjoy the ride and scenery every day!"
Whenever I mentor someone, and it is usually women, one of my first words of wisdom to them is: "You need to be delivered from the opinion of others." If you don't, you will always feel that you have to be a clone/carbon copy of someone else to be accepted in a particular arena. Being insecure and suffering from the spirit of rejection prevents the Holy Spirit's work in you, because you are always miserable and discontent concerning what you believe God should be doing and showing you about your own gifts. the bottom line is: "BE YOURSELF!
Have a Blessed Day!
